We invite you join us in celebrating the pursuit of new beginnings. This concept is not only relevant to the recent creation of IHW, but also reflective of the choice that many of you make when you decide to begin treatment. If you find yourself contemplating to make a change, but reluctant to take the first step, I challenge you to take a chance on yourself and see what happens.
It's easy to focus on the fact that change is overwhelming and to forget that change actually provides the opportunity for a new beginning, whether that be in the form of new skills, behaviors, perspectives, or relationships. Most people come to us because they want to see a change in their life, even if they aren't totally sure what that looks like or how to accomplish it. When positive change is accomplished, it's truly transformative. I've never had someone make a positive change and say to me "that really wasn't worth all the work I put in". If you questioning why this is, the answer is simple: underlying a desire to change is really the desire to seek some form of balance, happiness, and peace in some area of life. Can you imagine feeling regret about achieving balance, happiness, and peace in an area of your life? My prediction would be, likely not.
As we grow IHW, we also strive to support our clients' growth both in and out of session. The purpose of this blog is to create a space for continued discussion and exploration, post-session. Some of our posts will offer tips and tricks on dealing with certain issues, while other posts may offer insights and reflections from our therapists' experiences. Should you have specific topics you'd like us to post about, email your ideas to admin@integralhw.com.
Thank you for reading.
You matter.
